City Clerk Linda Stock

I was born in New Britain, CT and moved to Milford when I was 9 years old.  I attended Walnut Beach School (including the schoolhouse where the tennis courts now stand next to the West Shore Rec Center), Simon Lake (when it was brand spanking new), and was a proud member of the first four year graduating class of Jonathan Law High School.  After high school, I attended Stone Business College in the heart of Yale University in New Haven; then, I moved on to Porter and Chester Institute, studying architectural drafting.  I also took courses in zoning enforcement at UCONN; those courses included, engineering, inland wetlands, planning, customer service, building and a little public works thrown in for good measure.

I am married to a wonderful, understanding man, Heinz and I have three sons:  Michael, Kristofer and Jeremy, who is married to Sarah and they have one child, our precious granddaughter, Maia.  My children also attended the Milford public school system:  Seabreeze (now East Shore Middle School) and Foran, although Jeremy opted for Platt Tech.

I was the secretary of the Police Commission for 18+ years; former secretary of the Milford Historic District 2, South of the Green; former secretary of the Pension Board; ten year member of the Annual Milford Oyster Festival; President of the Republican Women of Milford and a current member of the Republican Town Committee; member of both the New Haven County Clerks Association and the Connecticut City Clerks Association.

I joined the City of Milford workforce in October of 1990 as a clerk in the Planning and Zoning Office, moved on to Secretary, then Administrative Assistant to the City Planner and finally became the Zoning Enforcement Officer on November 10, 1997.  I decided to run for office and became the City Clerk of Milford in November, 2009, where I am thoroughly enjoying continuing learning and meeting new people.
